For years I’ve studied quantum physics as it applies to my theories of thought energy. In my mind, there were many loose ends which I was trying to tie together into a unified hypothesis. During a poignant conversation about quantum physics with my friend, folk artist Sam Pacetti, he recommended that I view the 90-minute documentary The Secret, which involved some of the people who shot the mind-expanding documentary What the Bleep Do You Know.
Indeed, the experience of viewing the high quality production of The Secret was an epiphany. The presentation by a distinguished panel of philosophers, authors, teachers, and visionaries, succinctly tied together my fragmented hypothesis into a simple, proven principle– that is: Thought is energy and when it’s used in positive ways can affect change and literally materialize one’s desires. In other words, think it and it will be so. However, there is one caveat: One must act on one’s desire. Positive thought + positive action=positive result.
A renowned philosopher in the film uses a great analogy. Think of the energy in the universe as a big genie that emerged out of the lamp, waiting to give you what you desire. Is it fame, fortune, a mansion, being a best selling author?–whatever! All one has to do is think about it and ask for it, and it will materialize – not immediately, but with all one’s thought-energy focused on that goal, one will be on the path to achieving one’s dream. But you have to fervently believe that it works and act on it, then it will happen.
One could call this so-called “secret” the power of positive thinking, espoused by Norman Vincent Peale. However, this principle is much more deftly defined with case histories and proven experiences. This DVD can be purchased or viewed on-line at www.thesecret.tv and it is accessible to everyone. The panelists use easy-to-understand analogies to make their points. In fact, I would recommend that everyone, regardless of their beliefs, view this thought-provoking film. It’s completely secular with no religious symbolism whatsoever. For me, it was a life-altering experience. View What the Bleep Do You Know followed by The Secret for the ultimate quantum physics experience.
The idea for the film was fomented by Rhonda Byrne when she discovered, on her own initiative, the secret laws and principles of thought energy. Her life was immediately transformed, as she began to put into practice what she had learned. It seemed to Rhonda that almost no one knew the things that she had discovered, even though the concepts could be found in almost every religion and field of human endeavor throughout history. And at that moment her greatest wish and new mission was to share this knowledge with the world.
Rhonda set in motion her plan, steadily moving towards her goal. She had gone from working as a producer at the Nine Network in Melbourne, Australia to starting her own television production company, Prime Time Productions, in 1994. After successfully producing many television programs and films, Rhonda was ready to produce her seminal work and The Secret project was born. In 2004 Rhonda started filming The Secret. It was released in 2006 to rave reviews. By word of mouth, the DVD has skyrocketed into a worldwide phenomenon, stimulating online forums, special events, and reviving the careers of the panelists whose book sales have been rejuvenated. It’s so simple, people have a hard time believing that it works until they start practicing thought as energy to create their ideal world.
Basically, thought energy can be proven by simple experiments. For example, a marathon runner was hooked up to brain probes to register his brain waves (thought energy, as it were) and asked to run a marathon in his mind. As he thought about running the marathon, it triggered the same brain waves, and even physical reactions, as if he was actually running the race.
Our thoughts send out energy like radio waves, transmitting this energy to the vast matrix of energy in the universe. Once we’ve tuned it in to our desires, like a radio station, the universe begins receiving the energy and sending back the right signals to accomplish that goal and everything falls into place.
One panelist explained: He put up pictures of his goals on a bulletin board and every day he would see a mansion and think that would be his one day. Then as time passed, each of his desired goals came true and later, when he moved into his mansion, he hadn’t looked at the picture in a couple of years. To his absolute astonishment, the picture of a mansion was the exact photo of his new home. He had thought it into existence. Think it, and it will be so! That’s the simple Secret.
