      Heather Mills’ artificial leg proved to be no problem when Dancing with the Stars kicked off Monday night. Mills received mostly positive feedback from the judges, with Bruno Tonioli crediting her for having “more guts than Rambo.” Joey Fatone received the night’s highest marks, earning a score of 24 out of a possible 30. The fear was Heather’s leg would fly off and put someone’s eye out.


Love Retread

      Has the MTV curse been lifted? Shanna Moakler is reuniting with her husband, Travis Barker, she confirmed to People, though denying rumors she is pregnant. The couple split last year and Barker filed for divorce in August.


Spector Cuts off Afro for Trial

      Jury selection continued Tuesday in the murder trial of Phil Spector, who is accused of fatally shooting B-movie star Lana Clarkson in 2003. Some 150 prospective jurors reported to court on Monday, where 43 were excused for various reasons. With his trial finally getting underway, Spector debuting a new look—closely cropped blond locks and bangs.

      Uma Thurman and her on-again, off-again hotelier boyfriend Andre Balazs ended their relationship after three years, her rep confirmed Monday.


Designing Predator

      Anand Jon, a fashion designer who is already charged with sexual assaulting two women and a 15-year-old girl, is also accused of attacks on three more women and a 17-year-old girl, including lewd acts and rape, prosecutors said Monday. Jon has appeared on America’s Next Top Model in the past and was named as one of 2007’s people to watch by Newsweek. He has been in jail since Mar. 6 in lieu of $1.3 million bail; if convicted of all the charges against him, he could face life in prison.


Jackson Browne Inducted in Songwriters Hall of Fame

      Jackson Browne and Michael Masser are among this year’s inductees into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, which recognizes the work of the composers and lyricists responsible for popular music worldwide. The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 7 in New York.


A Baby Makes Three

      Tori Spelling is enjoying life as a new mom, judging by a new posting on her MySpace page. “It’s been the most amazing week and experience of my life,” she wrote, after delivering son Liam last week. “Mommihood ROCKS!” Meanwhile, Spelling’s new reality series, Tori & Dean: Inn Love, is premiering Tuesday on Oxygen.


No More Duff Puff

      Hilary Duff admitted to Britain’s Mail on Sunday that she felt pressure to lose weight after reading negative press reports about her appearance. “When a newspaper comes out that says ‘Duff Puff—she must have gained 15 pounds’ or something like that, how would any normal person react?” the 19-year-old singer-actor said. Duff has attributed her dramatic slim-down to healthier eating habits in the past.


Rolling Stone Conservationist

      Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell donated close to 300 acres of his Georgia hunting preserve to the state as a conservation easement, taking advantage of a new tax credit. The musician urges others to follow his lead and protect the state’s open spaces.


Fifteen Minutes of Fame Extended

      A movie about the life and death of Anna Nicole Smith is due to start shooting in Los Angeles early next month, CNN reports. Nasser Entertainment is currently in the process of casting the lead role for the film, which could be released as early as June.


Stoned Judge Busted

      Florida Judge, Lawrence Korda, who heard arguments in the paternity battle involving Anna Nicole Smith, was busted for smoking marijuana in a park and charged with possessing an illegal substance, TMZ reports. The judge was not arrested, but was given a notice to appear in court at a later date.


Designer Janitor

      Naomi Campbell began her court-ordered community service Monday at Manhattan District 3 Garage, Pier 36, where she is scheduled to spend the next five days mopping and pushing a broom as punishment for tossing a cell phone at her maid over a missing pair of jeans. She has inspired the new game of cell phone tossing at a target instead of your maid.
