The Seaside Music Theater is presenting a summer season of musicals

The Seaside Music Theater is the only professional musical theater of its kind in the entire southeast. Located in Daytona Beach, SMT has been Volusia County’s best kept secret for 31 years. This year’s summer season is about to get underway and they are gearing up for a season that will spoil the secret.

South Pacific (June 7-24)

SMT sets the summer season in motion with the romantic and timeless stage classic, South Pacific. South Pacific was among Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most successful and critically-acclaimed shows, winning nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This lively masterpiece combines the conflicts of war with those of the heart.

Silver Screen Serenade (June 14 – July 8)

The lights may be bright on Broadway, but no town sparkles like Hollywood! The brand new musical, Silver Screen Serenade, brings the two together in an explosive onstage revue of some of the silver screen’s most memorable music.

Nine (July 5-22)

Behind every great man stands a great woman, or in the case of filmmaker Guido Contini, MANY great women (21 to be exact!). In Nine, the bold and sexy Tony Award-winning Best Musical, you’ll meet all of them. The New York Times called Nine “a galloping fantasy with a ravishingly inventive and tuneful score.” Gorgeous music and gorgeous women surround you for an arousing evening of entertainment!

Snapshots (July 26 – August 19)

Every couple has a story. Snapshots, a new Steven Schwartz musical, tells the story of Sue and Dan, who after decades of marriage, relive their life together through years of photos. Ultimately, they must decide whether they’ve taken their final snapshots together.

Peter Pan (August 2-19)

Last summer, Seaside Music Theater made it rain on stage. This year they are taking the audiences on a fun-filled awe-inspiring trip to Neverland in Peter Pan. You’re never too old to visit Neverland! Journey with Peter, Wendy, John, Michael, and Tinkerbell for an exciting special effects-filled adventure that includes sword-fighting, crocodile encounters, and amazing rescues. “I’m Flying! Flying! Flying!” – and rest assured, they will, all around the theater in this beloved classic for all ages.

Go, Dog. Go! (May 26 – August 17)

The hilarious musical based on the treasured children’s book by P.D. Eastman, will have the tiniest of toddlers and the biggest kids enchanted. Just like the book, canines of all shapes, sizes, and colors will drive, scoot, swim, and play, in, out, up, down and all around the theater!
