Get Thee Hence, Hanger-ons
Britney Spears posted a lengthy letter to fans on her official website Tuesday in an effort to “reach out...and explain some of the things I have been faced with recently.” The pop star said she “hit rock bottom” while in rehab but maintained that her problems did not stem from alcohol abuse or depression. “I think the whole problem was letting too many people into my life,” Spears wrote, adding that she has since cut off contact with many former confidantes. Yeah, hanger-ons are such a drag when they run out of drugs!

Loco Lohan Party Confidential
Lindsey Lohan’s latest DUI arrest didn’t seem to have much effect on her busy social schedule over the weekend. The 20-year old actress attended a Memorial Day pool party at Hollywood hotspot Teddy’s on Sunday and was photographed by x17online.com apparently passed out in the front seat of the SUV belonging to her friend Samantha Ronson as they departed around 4:30 am. According to the New York Post, Lohan collapsed as she left the club and had to be lifted into the car by a bouncer. Hey, at least someone else was driving.

Stop the ‘N Sync Rumors
Justin Timberlake has partnered with Interscope Records to launch his own label, Tennman Records, and will serve as chairman and CEO of the new venture, Interscope chief Jimmy Iovine announced Monday. Former Sony BMG exec Ken Komisar has been named president of the fledgling label. “I cannot wait to introduce the world to my new discoveries,” Timberlake said in a statement. Meanwhile, chances of a ‘N Sync reunion look increasingly unlikely. Besides, Justin has moved way past his boy band stage.

Barb’s Rome Gig at $1,200 Bucks APiece Cancelled
Barbra Streisand has called off her concert in Rome next month, following protests by Italian consumer groups over what they deemed “absurd and shameful” ticket prices, which ranged from about $200 to $1,200. Concert organizers claimed the cancellation was not related to the protests, but was due to “unexpected production delays.” Streisand will now launch her European tour June 18 in Zurich. She did say she would send autographed photos of herself for $20 a pop to any Italian citizen who was too cheap to buy a ticket to her show.

“Loud Lesbian” gone Silent
Rosie O’Donnell posted a video blog on her website stating that she does not expect ever to speak to Elisabeth Hasselbeck again in the wake of the on-air dustup that led to her early exit from The View. “I haven’t spoken to her, and I probably won’t, and I think it’s just as well,” O’Donnell said. The former chat-fest cohost also confessed that her chief writer did indeed scrawl a mustache on a poster of Hasselbeck hanging in the View studio. “It was a joke on the way out,” she said. Yeah, and Hasselbeck scrawled a body part on Rosie’s poster.

Pea Pot Plea
Black Eyed Peas member Taboo (real name: Jaime Luis Gomez) pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor marijuana charges Friday stemming from his Mar. 27 arrest. The hip-hopper did not attend the hearing and entered his plea through his attorney. He’s due back in court June 28 for a pretrial hearing. Afterward, Taboo bummed a joint from his attorney.

Police Giddy to be Back Together
The Police launched their first world tour in more than 20 years in Vancouver Monday with 20,000 cheering fans looking on. “Since we haven’t been together in 25 years, I’d like to introduce the band. Andy, this is Stewart,” Sting joked a few songs into the show. The band will play two North American legs, a European leg and shows throughout Latin America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand before wrapping up the tour early next year. After years of hating each other, the lads are downright giddy to be together. The loads of money the Police are making to tour soothed all the past acrimony.

Revolving Suits
NBC is expected to oust its chief entertainment executive, Kevin Reilly, and replace him with Ben Silverman, the man responsible for bringing Ugly Betty and The Office to American television, according to published reports. Reilly has headed up the struggling network’s entertainment division for the last four years and signed a new three-year contract in February.
