Ninja Gaiden Sigma
for Playstation 3

Have you ever played Ninja Gaiden for the original Xbox? If so, you’ll know it’s one of the greatest ninja-related games ever. With an emphasis on scoring, amazing graphics and gameplay, the re-creation of this game for PS3 is no exception to this standard. The graphics in Ninja Gaiden Sigma have been recreated and enhanced to take advantage of what the PS3 can do for visuals, and there have been some new additions to the game as well, including playing as a new character named Rachel. While not a 100% new game in regards to the last two Ninja Gaiden releases, Ninja Gaiden Sigma provides plenty of new experiences and all the gameplay elements that made the earlier versions great, in addition to the promise of new incremental downloadable content in the works.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas
for Playstation 3

Ubisoft is great at making tactical military shooters that are insanely realistic. With Rainbow Six: Vegas, the evidence of that is pretty obvious. In this action-packed shooter, it is your goal to guide your team through the casinos and streets of Las Vegas in an effort to stop highly-trained terrorists from ruining everyone’s day. If you see a zip-line going through a window, you might just see it wiggling around, cluing you in to an incoming terrorist. There are all kinds of little details like this, and in the online multiplayer portion of the game, these little clues can lead your team to a win if you can read them efficiently.  Xbox 360 players have been enjoying Rainbow Six: Vegas for quite a while now, and so far the response to the game has been remarkably positive. So what reason would you have for getting this version over the 360 version? Well, the PS3 version comes with some additional content that costs a little more than with the 360 version, but other than that, they are on the same level, for the most part, with the 360 version strangely having a minor graphical advantage. Overall, they are both great, so fans of tactical first-person shooters will love Rainbow Six: Vegas.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
for Xbox 360 and PS3

Making a great game based on a book such as Harry Potter has gotta’ be tough, and as history will tell, none of the previous HP games have really been worth the asking price on the box. I mean heck, playing quidditch sounds cool on paper, but you don’t really realize how broken the game is until your opponent sucks the whole game, but then wins with the golden snitch. So what about this new Harry Potter game? It’s actually pretty good. So good in fact, you’ll feel like you are interactively participating in the movie, but not in a Universal-Studios-ride-kinda-way. In a good way. The environments and the characters interact in a real and interesting way, and the graphics are great, for the most part. While not perfect, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is sure to make fans of the series giddy. While it does tell the story of the movie, it doesn’t give too much away, and gives you plenty of alternate tasks to do in addition to things from the movie. If you are playing this game before you see the movie next week, you’ll be happy for that.
