Do you want to make more money? Sure, we all do. But most jobs require a certain level of training, and most people don’t realize that there are training schools for careers you’d never expect. In fact, there are even pole dancer schools, though Jacksonville isn’t home to any that I could find. I guess you’d have to go a bigger sleazy city to get your degree in stripology.
We discovered some truly interesting and strangely specific schools out there, and we decided to let you know about a few of them.
Hairstyling shops don’t hire just anyone off the street, although I wouldn’t have believed it after my last haircut. Maybe I should have first checked to make sure my hairstylist graduated from Riverside Hairstyling Academy.
Hairstyling is a profession that will always be in demand. Training Jacksonvillians since 1962 in the constantly changing field of cosmetology, the Riverside Hairstyling Academy fully equips their students with all necessary skills and even helps them find a job upon completion of their nine-month training. A cosmetologist usually works on commission from their employer, though many go on to start their own business.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to make a Rum and Coke or a Whiskey Sour, then ABC Bartending School is the school for you. If you’ve ever wanted sex on the beach, then…oh, nevermind. Normally, those beverages would take years to master, but ABC Bartending School can make you an expert in as little as one week. After you complete your training, you’ll be slinging the bottles just like Tom Cruise.
Well, Tom Cruise probably doesn’t mix good drinks because the aliens told him not to, but you certainly can. Since 1977, ABC Bartending School has been training bartenders from dozens of locations all over the country. They offer job placement and free refresher courses.
