      Get ready to laugh in a way you haven’t since high school. Remember dance troupes? I don’t know if it still goes on, but when I was in high school, football pep rallies always included football teams, silly sketches that encouraged “just saying no,” cheerleaders and a dance troupe.

      Saturday Night Live cast members of yesteryear, Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri, played Spartan Cheerleaders that weren’t officially on the squad but choreographed their own dances to the traditional dance troupe songs, such as C&C Music Factory’s ‘Everybody Dance Now.’ In a similar tradition, TNT Dance is a group of young adults from St. Augustine that choreographed their own dance to the C&C Music Factory hit and performed it in St. Augustine.

      To convey the humor of this endeavor in print is difficult to say the least, and far be it from me to assume that these dancers aren’t serious. Their moves are red hot and some of the dancers are even skilled gymnasts, but I will say that it is absolutely impossible to watch this performance without laughing hysterically. It is currently my favorite YouTube video to share with friends, finally replacing the Flight of the Conchords offerings.

      Go to YouTube (www.youtube.com) and search TNT Dance. It is the first return you will get. But this is only a hilarious preview. Rumor has it that TNT Dance has been diligently working on their next performance and will debut it at the Café 11 5th Anniversary Dance Party with John Vanderslice on September 5th. Bring your video camera, it is sure to be just as impressive as it is hilarious. Something you can chuckle at for days.
