      The sixth highest grossing film of all time is now available on DVD. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, the sequel to the hit film that was inspired by the theme park ride, was a smash in theaters and will no doubt break DVD sale records just like its predecessor. A special two-disc edition of the film is now available complete with limited-edition 3-D packaging.

      Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly return in this swashbuckling adventure tale where old friends and new foes meet on the high seas. Will Turner (Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Knightly) are about to tie the knot when the couple is thrown in jail for aiding Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) in his latest escape from the authorities. The two agree to go searching for the infamous pirate in exchange for their freedom. Meanwhile Jack is hiding out from the wicked sea spirit Davy Jones (Bill Nighy), to whom the good captain owes his very life. The debt must be repaid and Jack’s time among the living is up. Once Captain Jack crosses paths with his old shipmate Will and the lovely Miss Swann, the epic adventure truly begins.

      The Dead Man’s Chest DVD has a nice amount of bonus features and is well worth owning. Disc one contains the feature film, an audio commentary track with writers Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio and a blooper reel. Disc two is where the real booty can be found. Numerous behind-the-scenes featurettes made the cut including an hour long look at the film’s production and a brief look at the red carpet premiere. Also included here are Jerry Bruckheimer’s photos of the production and an interactive look at Captain Jack’s costume complete with the whats, whys and hows. In all, the two-disc special edition DVD boasts over five hours of bonus features and will make a lovely addition to any film buff’s collection. Should you or someone you know be a Pirates fan, this release will make the perfect gift.
